The Royal Wedding's Hats

When it comes to a special occasion in British society, the occasion is not complete without a hat. There has to be a hat, it's part of the social fabric. The much-awaited royal wedding on April 29 was a triumph of a day for hat lovers. There were hats of all shapes, sizes and colors, every person was wearing one.
For most people, the hat is quite serious and frivolous at the same time. It completes the outfit and it's a finishing touch.

While all eyes were on Catherine Middleton's stunning Alexander McQueen gown and Cartier tiara during last friday's ceremony, guests showed up to the event in some amazing accessories of their own - hats!
British milliners had their biggest day of the year, as Victoria Beckham accesorized a dress she designed with a topper by Philip Treacey, as did Zara Philips, daughter of Princess Anne and many other guests.
Let's have a look at the Royal Wedding's Hat Gallery.

Milliner Philip Treacey's designs crowned some of the most prominent heads at the Royal Wedding. Victoria Beckham, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Zara Phillips all had creations adapted to compliment their wedding ensembles. The designer, who admits to many a sleepless night over the past few weeks, was responsible for adding the finishing touches to no less than 35 guests. Hats off to Treacey!
