Gucci's 90th anniversary celebrations will culminate with the official opening of the Gucci Museo  in Florence today, September 28, 2011. Enjoy our tribute to the House’s historical archive, creative heritage and ongoing innovation.

A year of events in celebration of Gucci’s 90th anniversary will culminate with the official public opening of the Gucci Museo inside the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia located in Florence’s Piazza Signoria.
A permanent exhibition from its rich and culturally significant archive, which has been preserved and amplified throughout the years, will be juxtaposed with contemporary art installations supported by the Pinault Foundation.  An icon store, bookshop, caffè and gift shop complement the exhibition spaces to create a destination location for visitors.

A new perspective

Thigh high splits, over the knee boots, selectively placed furs and blazers. Each are about perspective. Particular angles can detract from the effect, others can heighten it in any number of ways. Despite this, the majority of photo shoots tend to concentrate on each statement element from the same perspective – thigh high splits, for instance, are nearly always photographed with their wearer in motion, revealing a flash of thigh.

The Michael Kors photo shoot in the September issue of Interview magazine changes all that. It changes the perspective, sexually charging each statement. And deservedly so: each of these fashion elements is crafted around the sensuality of the body.
