Jessie J Brit Awards 2011 Make Up Tutorial
Wow! If there’s one woman who was mixing up attitude and minxiness at the Brit Awards 2011, it was Jessie J. Clutching her Critics’ Choice Award 2011 trophy, Jessie’s make-up looked flawless throughout the night thanks to make-up artist Andrew Gallimore. Creating a suitably sultry look to complement her edgy outfit, Andrew teamed together two classics – full-on red lips and dark smoky eyes with lots of smudgy black pencil added for extra definition. To rock it well though, application has to be perfect so get your make-up brushes at the ready. It’s bold, it’s tough… and we love it!

Burberry Cruise 2012 Collection
Christopher Bailey has emphasised how important Cruise collections have become to retailers and to the consumer as he unveils Burberry Prorsum's pre-Spring/Summer 2012 offering this week.
"The consumer is constantly looking to be excited and inspired when they walk into the store - and this is why we develop several capsule collections in between the main seasonal collections," he said. "Customers really always want newness which is where the concept of the Cruise collections originally started." He also revealed that rather than acting as a separate entity, the Cruise collection is very much a precursor to the spring/summer offering.

Fashion meets Ballet
Erdem and Giles are among designers who are putting their individual design take on the tutu, in a new collaboration with the English National Ballet. A host of top fashion names, from the House of Worth and Moschino to Roksanda Ilincic and Julien Macdonald, have each created their version of ballet's famous costume piece - all of which will be sold in a public auction.
"I think that the tutu is one of the most beautiful pieces of clothing invented and I was honoured by the request from an institution as prestigious as the English National Ballet," Moschino's creative director Rossella Jardini said. "It came naturally because the pearl-and-queen button embroidery are typically English and I have always found them beautiful."

The obi belt
The spring/summer 2011 collections were defined by the Orient: accentuate your waist with the season's most exotic accessory, the obi belt. Designers from Caroline Herrera to Sonia Rykiel featured versions of the Eastern waist-cincher on the runway.
Carolina Herrera
At Herrera, block colours nestled against wide neutral backgrounds, and were finished with geographic buckles, while at Sonia Rykiel, an obi-style belt was knotted over a chunky cardigan - a failsafe way to add shape to summer cover ups.

Adele Covers Glamour's Women of the Year Issue

The wonderful Adele rightfully won the award for UK Solo Artist, and also was given the honours of covering the July issue.
The wonderful Adele rightfully won the award for UK Solo Artist, and also was given the honours of covering the July issue.
Adele Laurie Blue Adkins known under the mononym Adele was born on May 5, in 1988. She was the first recipient of the BRIT Awards Critics' Choice and was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2008 in an annual BBC poll of music critics, Sound of 2008. At the 2009 Grammy Awards, Adele won the awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Adele wears a floral Jil Sander dress on the cover, which Glamour Editor, Jo Elvin, just shared on Twitter. It's definitely one of Glamour's best covers this year, and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Looks set to be a great issue as some Benefit make-up comes free, too.

Le Boy Chanel
If there was ever a time that was ripe for the launch of a women's bag with a mannish lean, Chanel did well to pick this one. After all, this is a period in which a masculine undertone permeates through much of women's fashion; an undertone that we only expect to strengthen as 2012 approaches, bringing with it an expected 1930s revival. There's another fact revealed: this masculine undertone is not modern or futuristic, nor based on an experimentation with androgyny. Instead, it's a masculine undertone that carries with it heritage appeal. And few fashion houses do heritage as well as Chanel. So it is that masculine qualities merge with heritage appeal to shape one of Chanel's autumn / fall 2011 offerings: the Boy bag. Inspired by a hunters' cartridge bag carried by Coco Chanel. The lack of over femininity in the Boy Chanel seems clear from the moment you lay eyes on it. It's lines are strong, its hardware embellishments not slight. To be certain this isn't a gent's bag, thrown over his shoulder or across his chest it would look out of place, but nor is it of the quilted, visually soft standard that many a Chanel bag has been coveted for. Chanel have a term for it, they say they're avoiding the feminine cliches.
