Burberry Prorsum Resort 2013 Collection

Yes, it rains in the U.K., and as everyone around the globe knows, Burberry’s exponentially increasing fortunes spring from Christopher Bailey’s manipulation of trench-coat iconography.

So it’s hard to criticize a formula that is clearly successful, absolutely recognizable, and unwavering in its continuity. Bailey tagged his resort collection “sensual strictness,” but compared to other pre-collections, there’s actually more of a casual air about the reworkings of house tailoring, like his taupe-and-ivory seersucker pantsuit, paper-bag–waisted trousers coordinated with “Prorsum” print T-shirts, knits with swooped necklines, and the house’s signature shrunken motorcycle jackets. At the young end, there are cute printed shorts (actually boxers, adapted from the men’s collection) and at the slightly more mature end, pencil skirts. The trench, though, gets its moment of glory moment, upgraded to a light gold lamé.

Elie Saab Spring Collection 2012

Elie Saab

The particular breed of elegance that graced the Elie Saab haute couture Spring 2012 runway show was the kind that was born of the '50s and ’60s. The kind you’d associate with icons like Grace Kelly, the kind that’s both delicate yet coolly powerful.

Elie Saab Spring Collection 2012

Elie Saab named his Spring collection Color Shock, and though he opened with a group of pearly pales, he soon segued into more vivid shades in the bright thread he began for Resort.
The Elie Saab show can be relied upon for billowing, swirling red carpet dresses smothered in glitter and crystals galore that little girls aren’t really allowed to play dress up in and grown-up ones love to sometimes even if they don’t admit it.

Versace for H&M Collection

Versace for H&M

The wait to see the Versace for H&M collection in full is over - we have it all here to show you. Drawing on the heritage of the legendary fashion house, expect bright prints, bold colours and reinterpretations of iconic dresses. Plus, a first for the H&M designer collaborations, there will be homeware too.

"The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we've brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can't wait to see how H&M's wide audience will make these pieces their own," says Donatella Versace.
